Thank you Invaders!

What a great evening of fun and fundraising!!!  The Invaders sponsored 3 buses for all of our parents and students to attend a football game last night (June 2) and yes, with DIVINE intervention, the rain held off!!!  Our students sang the National Anthem and welcomed the team onto the field - what a privilege.
Not only did the Invaders win, but we also raised $242 - the half-time activity consisted of making a paper airplane and aim at a target on the field during half-time!  What a great idea!  Each paper cost $2...this was generously coordinated by the Invaders team -
All parents and students LOVED their evening and went home, happy and tired....

Media Launch Day!

Greetings!
We would like to welcome you and thank you for your support. This project is a very special one to us, our students, and our community. We look forward to sharing this journey with you all! Please be sure to check here regularly as there will be updates as to how our project grows! We look forward to working with each and every one of you!

Our mission statement is: "Dr. Dan Offord believed that all children deserve the right of full participation in community life. Assumption Catholic School and the greater Vanier community members advocate that each generation of children renew the health, creativity and spirit of their surroundings. It is this powerful belief that fosters the vision to create a healthier and safer environment for children to play and peacefully learn every day. Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive place - as well as a place of pride for students and community members of Vanier.  It is through this vision that we aim to involve all stakeholders in the revitalization of Assumption Catholic school’s grounds. All of this is embodied in our school motto: "Take care of ourselves, Take care of each other and Take care of this place".

Due to the amount of space allotted for sections of this webpage, the webmaster was unable to fit the French translation of "Let Them Be Kids"; so here it is:
"Let Them Be Kids" est un organisme à but non-lucratif, formé de bénévoles, qui a pour but de promouvoir un esprit de communauté tout en créant des terrains de jeux, des pistes d'hébertisme et des aires de planche à roulettes à travers le Canada.  Ces projets laissent la trace de membres qui auront inspiré la communauté à se rassembler dans un but commun et de parvenir ainsi à solidifier des liens d'entraide et de fraternité dans toute la communauté.

Things we have done and are still doing within our school community:

  • We had a Penny Drive-students brought in an abundance of pennies!
  • The grade 5 class is excited to announce the start of our fundraiser for the Assumption Catholic School Play Structure. Please help us raise money to pay for the new play structure to bring more fun to our playground.
You can help by purchasing some of our Greeting Card packages. The package has five greeting cards. Each card has a different work of art created by a student in the grade 5 class.
Sending a greeting card created by us is a great way to send a message to someone you care about and also a great way to support a worthy cause: Art and Places for Children to Play in Vanier.
We are selling the cards in packages of 5 for $10.00. If you would like to purchase some of our cards, please copy and paste and fill in the form below and send it back to the school.
